David Walliams is a very talented writer in all of his books. My favourite character is Nelly because she is a very funny person in this book. My favourite scene is when Nelly wants to change her balloon but then she flies off into the London skies. David Walliams cleverly describes what Matron and Tom’s headteacher does when Tom’s parents call or send letters.

The Midnight Gang is a very adventurers and mysterious book. Also this book is popular. I would recommend this book for year 4 to 6 pupils. If you like books that are emotional and funny, you will love this book.

Alex Rider- Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz

This book is full of action and adventure, which will blow your mind!

Alex Rider is a story about a young boy who’s name is Alex and is 15 years old. He works for a spy agenecy called MI6. He goes on thrilling adventures, (which are a bit gory) that will astound you! This book is only the 6th out of 10. The Alex Rider series is amazing for people who love action and adventure.

The auther, Anthony Horowitz is very good at giving details, even if not needed. The action scenes are always enjoyable, because it gives full detail of whats happening, and you can fully imagine  whats going on. As you’re reading, you feel a bit scared for Alex, because anything could happen at any time, for example, (this is in the book) he could be walking across the street minding his own business, then suddenly he gets shot across the arm by some random man/woman. My favourite character is Jack Starbright, who is basically Alex’s baby sitter, because he’s not old enough to live alone. (Jack is a girl, by the way) She come from America, which is interesting, because the setting is in London.

If you love reading action and adventure, i’m sure you will love this book. I recommend this book for people above the age of 9. Anthony Horowitz also has some other great books as well, so you should go and check those out too.

Mr Stink by David Walliams

Mr Stink is a story about a homeless wanderer who has a secret to tell.

This book is full of mystery and humour. David Walliams is very good at adding funny moments to the most serious of books. One example of this is when it says Chloe would always be able to smell him. David Walliams cleverly describes how much Mr Stink smelled.

My favorite character is Chloe because she is very sympathetic and caring. I particularly enjoyed the bit where Mr Stink is introduced. I like the way Mr Stink is old-fashioned. The action scenes are when Mr stink takes a bath in the pond.

Mr Stink is a funny tale with a dark secret. I would thoroughly recommend this book to Year 5 to 6 children. If you like funny and dark books this is the heart-warming tale  is for you.
