Granny by Anthony Horowitz

Full of funny and wicked scenes-an unforgettable story.

Granny is about an unhappy boy called Joe Warden. His problem is his Granny. She takes him away to an old war home in Devonshire. But Granny has a secret plan and that plan involves Joe!

This book is full of evil plans and some mystery. Anthony Horowitz is very good at describing people. An example of this is: ”She was so fat that she seemed to have partially melted into her chair. She had three chins. The third of these was crowned with a wispy beard.” My favourite character is Mrs Jinks because she is very kind and caring. She helps Joe in his every needs. As you read you wonder weather your Granny is evil. I like the way Granny always feeds everyone cream cheese. The introduction really makes you want to read the book.

Granny is a great book to read when you’re bored. I would thoroughly recommend this book to year 4, 5 and 6. Anyone who has read Awful Auntie should read this book.
